Our Mission:
The Greensburg Police Department exists to safeguard the lives andsafety of all persons within the City of Greensburg, to protectproperty and to assist in securing to all persons equal protection ofthe law. We recognize the limits of law enforcement authority andacknowledge the need for public approval, acceptance and support of thelaw enforcement function. Therefore, we are committed to making surethat every citizen we interact with is treated with dignity, compassionand a sense of professionalism.

The Greensburg Police Departmentrecognizes the important role that citizen participation plays in crimeprevention. We support the core of Community Policing, and accept it'sdefinition as both a philosophy and an organizational strategy thatbrings the police and community closer together. Our goal as aCommunity Police Department is to ensure that police and the communityshare the responsibility for finding workable solutions to problemsthat detract from community safety and security. We are committed toproviding customer focused, problem solving services in partnershipwith the community we serve.
