The City's Department of Public Works (DPW) consists of the Street Department and the Fleet Maintenance Division. The Superintendent of Streets oversees the day-to-day operations of the department and twelve fulltime City employees.
Ten employees are responsible for traffic line painting, street sweeping, brush and leaf collection, right-of-way trimming, alley/street resurfacing, pothole patching, and snow removal.
Fleet Maintenance Division:
Two mechanics perform maintenance, repairs and State inspections for the fleet of City vehicles that includes the fire, street, recreation and electric departments.
Hours of Operations:
From April through October, the hours of operation are from 6 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and during the winter months the hours are 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of our daily tasks, the DPW building is often unattended therefore 724-838-4344 connects to a 24-hour voice answering machine. Please leave a detailed message.
